Life’s a Journey
Dearest Blog Readers,
Writing my first post is so intimidating, I’ve decided to write y’all a letter instead! It may not seem like a big deal, but it was a large decision for me to start this blog. I’ve thought about it for a while now, but I have always thought nah, I’m not special, no one will want to read what I have to say. Which is exactly why I’ve decided to follow through with this page, I’m not extraordinary, I’m not famous. I’m just like you and that is what makes me uniquely qualified to write this blog. I am always looking for new recipes to try, I botch pinterest projects, and I spend way too much on craft supplies. I bought too many pairs of Keds this summer and I was way too spontaneous when picking the color I painted my guest room (oh boy, stick with me on my journey to re-paint the room, it’ll be good.) I took on a lot of New Years Resolutions knowing darn well that I gave them up by February last year and I am excited to create an awesome 2021 with you!
I’m going to warm up this post with a couple fun facts about me!
I am an Ohio girl who has spent the past 6 years living in small-town New York. I love living in the Finger Lakes region. Being able to drink coffee lakeside in the summer more than makes up for the massive snow storms in the winter.
I am a proud dog mom! I’ve had Brennan for 6 years. I got him shortly before I moved to New York. He is my favorite boy and the best part about coming home. A Brennan appreciation post will definitely be coming soon!
My favorite color is Orange…. could you tell by the home page here? Pink is a close second, I love love my pink kitchen.
I love to read. My all time favorite book series is Knitting in the City by Penny Reid. All of her books are wonderful, she is wonderful, but Knitting in the City is by far my favorite (Find the series here).
Blueberries are my favorite fruit. I eat them all the time. I think one of these days I’m going to have a “Violet, you’re turning violet!” Moment.
I have worked several different jobs in my 30 years. I started in retail working at Icing and Claires. Yes, I know how to pierce ears, and I felt really cool doing it. I worked in a department store and had a lot of fun slacking off with my coworkers. I also worked as a waitress and in a college admissions office before I found my true passion. I am the assistant administrator for an adult care home specializing specifically in the care of Veterans. I love what I do and can’t think of a more rewarding job.
I firmly believe in celebrating the little things.
I also believe in Red Lipstick. In Red Lipstick we trust.
My favorite pandora station is Sunday Funday Brunch radio, give it a listen. Do it while you let your hair down and dance around your kitchen.
That is just a little glimpse of what I’m about, I look forward to sharing more of myself and my life with you!
xx
